Progress of sorts

We have a new foundation wall in the back - now the walls can be rebuilt.

Nice and level...

Termite eaten wood in the front is gone - now that foundation wall can be fixed.

Creepy...

This creepy hat was in the attic.  I have now removed it (and its evil presence) from the house.  Maybe things will go better....  :)

No Walls (and more termites!)

All the termite damage in the back of the house is gone - we have an open air home

Lovely termites...

The porch is gone.

More termites where the porch was....
...and all along the front of the front bedroom...
...to the corner of the house

April 19

I have been slacking in my photo posting.  So here are many days of pictures.

The back side of the house has been jacked up and floors/ceilings removed

This is the back corner of the kitchen - soon to be master bedroom

We hate termites!

A long time ago some termites decided the back of our house would make a tasty meal.  They ate and left.  Now we have to fix it - blech!
The front of the house - in case you were wondering what it looks like.
Really tall ceilings in the living room.
The chimney is down but not the studs
Our open air living room
Living room looking at the front door - notice the lovely pink and green ceilings.  Perhaps we will repaint them these colors...
Living room looking at two front bedrooms.
Kitchen and termites
The floor is up and all the damage is visible.  The wide stud was the wall between the kitchen and middle bedroom (and apparently tasty to termites)
Kitchen corner again - but no with no floor.
Looking at the front of the house from the kitchen - no more chimney or floor.
The kitchen - and the damaged old floor from the middle bedroom.   At some point a not very smart person decided to use a sander to level out the bump in the floor in the middle bedroom caused by the chimney - now the floor is pretty much junk.  We are going to use as much of the salvageable bits in the closets.
First harvest from my garden - radishes

Day Four and Five

All the plaster and dry wall are gone.  As is the chimney!  (It was raining today and workers were still there - more pictures tomorrow)
The kitchen - eventually the master bedroom.

Look how high the ceilings are!!!

Another view of the kitchen
The back of the house.
Another view of the back.
The back from far away - notice the lack of chimney...
This was the chimney.
A gratuitous garden shot.
There are two rows of potatoes, one of beets, and then a row of cauliflower and broccoli.  Along the far  length are peas and radishes.  Then behind them a row of onions and more beets.
And an even more extraneous shot of the neighbor's front yard and lovely azaleas.

Day Three

The bathroom and hall are gone!
Back of the house - no more bathroom!

It's all gone!

The old floor joists (I think)

Looking at the fire place from the middle bedroom - the walls and closets are gone.

Standing in the middle bedroom looking at the kitchen - there was a doorway here once and now it is back!  (It will be gone again later)

The other side of the fireplace from the front bedroom

Apparently, there were some petrified squirrels in there...

The side of the chimney from one of the closets

The back of the plaster

The other side of the chimney looking up at the roof.  (This picture is sideways - I have not figured out how to rotate them yet)

These were in the chimney/wall - they are from 1906!  (But not the fly swatter)

These were produced by The Phonoharp Company - they made autoharps.  Not sure how these are related to that...
